Bill and Mary Jo Rowe of Integrity Pest Control will be speaking on 'green' pest control for your home and business and specifically about the EPA's Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP), which is a voluntary program that forms partnerships with pesticide users to reduce the potential health and environmental risks associated with pesticide use and implement pollution prevention stategies.
On April 23rd, Earl Burden with Riverbend Timber Framing, a member of the Tulsa HBA Green Building Council and a founding exhibitor of Tulsa Partners' Green Building Resource Library, will talk about timber framing and the use of structural insulated panels (SIPS): "The Best Kept Green Secret."
On May 28th, in honor of National Preservation Month's theme of "Old is the New Green," we will present about how historic preservation is green and can be energy efficient. We will also mention information available through the National Trust for Historic Preservation on protecting historic resources from natural disasters. (Presenter to be announced.)
The Fourth Friday Green Bag Lunch series occurs from 11:30 am to 1 pm on the fourth Friday of the month except for November and December. Unless otherwise announced, the location of the Green Bag Lunches will be at the Kendall Whittier Public Library, 21 South Lewis. The purpose of the lunches is provide information to the public and professionals information on topics related to green building, disaster resistant construction, and sustainable living. Presentations are eligible for self-report to AIA CES for continuing education learning units. The sponsor of the lunches is the Tulsa Partners' Millennium Center project and Green Building Resource Library.
